About the painting: Although her present is filled with grief, she clings on to the glorious past which now has faded.
The fading envelopes represents her forgotten epistolists. The open letters represent her hope tied to her memories and the shapes represents her purest thoughts, which has a fading golden core like her fading beliefs.
Her thickened dark circles represent her grief, the darkened forehead lining up with her long nose represents her sad fate. However, she still has her vibrant smile representing her hope. She is still curious about what is left of her life. She still dresses up in vibrant colours with the hope of getting back her former glory.....
Inspired from the known history/life story of Kadambori Debi.
